Eat This Book! by Stuart Dauermann - shows book cover with a bite taken out of it

Eat This Book!

Rabbi Stuart Dauermann holds an MA and PhD in Intercultural Studies. He is a Messianic Jewish futurist who focuses on increasing understanding and enriching community life at the intersection of the Jewish and Christian worlds.

“What does it mean to be a Jewish disciple of Yeshua? Where does one begin? Rabbi Dauermann answers these questions in highly practical, gastronomical, and inspiring ways. It is a must-read for all Jewish people who want to start the journey of following Israel’s Messiah on the right foot, and for members of the tribe who have been walking this walk for a while and need a refresher, and food for thought. Eat This Book! is a go-to resource on Messianic Jewish discipleship and spiritual formation!”
David Rudolph, PhD
Director of Messianic Jewish Studies
The King’s University

“Rabbi Stuart Dauermann has done it again. Eat This Book! is a creative, erudite, and often humorous guide for discipleship that is ‘user-friendly and Judaism-positive.’ It is a contribution that has been missing and desperately needed, a helpful curriculum primarily for discipling Jews as Jews. It will also benefit anyone from any background who wants to grow and mature spiritually in their faith. I highly recommend this work and look forward to using it within my own congregation.”
Rabbi Joshua Brumbach
President, Messianic Jewish Rabbinical Council
and Senior Rabbi of Congregation Simchat Yisrael, West Haven, CT

“This is an amazing book, a lovely book, so well expressed.  It is an engaging book and will benefit all who seek to apply it.”
Daniel Juster, ThD, of Restoration from Zion,
First President and General Secretary of the UMJC

“Rabbi Dauermann has invited us to the banquet table for a sumptuous feast, from the goblet of prayer to a parting glezel tei. Seasoned with Jewish background for a deeper understanding, it is not an abstract work of theological speculation, but rather a practical menu that liberally employs a food metaphor motif. To miss out on this repast is to miss a five-star delight that will enrich your palate and reignite your taste buds for the spiritual fête ahead. The proof of the pudding is in the reading. Definitely, Eat This Book!”
Rabbi Elliot Klayman, JD
Past President, Union of Messianic Jewish Congregations;
Instructor, Messianic Jewish Theological Institute; Executive Director, Messianic Literature Outreach

“How can we weave discipleship to Rabbi Yeshua into the fabric of our lives? Rabbi Stuart Dauermann presents an organic approach to Messianic Jewish spirituality at home and around the table, with clear and compelling recipes guiding Jewish disciples of Yeshua and their families toward growth in prayer, Torah learning, Shabbat, and other core practices that make being a follower of Messiah a joy and a delight.”
Rabbi Yahnatan Lasko
Beth Messiah Congregation, Rockville, MD

you won't walk away hungry

This book is written with the pen of a sagacious and loving elder (who also happens to be my friend of 45 years). I recommend you "eat this book" and absorb its spiritual nutrients so that you might know and live a more authentic messianic Jewish life in Yeshua. I found the book to be akin to a good meal where the ingredients are familiar but at times a bit not so, and you're invited to stir the pot until it becomes the nourishment you particularly need for your own soul and spirit. You'll want to "eat this book" with a trusted friend; a mentor; or a spiritual leader (I read it by myself). Chew on it slowly, thoughtfully and with perseverance to see and hear what and where G-d wants to infuse your life with its truths.

It's like sitting down for a meal with the Messiah.

This is not a “traditional” discipleship manual. Instead, It is a how-to handbook for those who are new in their relationship with Yeshua, or those who have been walking with Yeshua for some time, and want to deepen their spiritual lives. In the format of a many-course meal, Rabbi Dauermann shows us how Yeshua might have taught his disciples about what things are important for them to be doing after He has left them. Unlike most discipleship books, it is written with the Jewish Yeshua-follower in mind, presenting how much of this new relationship with the Messiah is based on Jewish themes and concepts. What is more Jewish than sitting down to a family meal? I highly recommend this book to new Jewish Yeshua-followers, as well as those who need a refresher. This book will bring everyone closer to Messiah Yeshua! This goes on my shelf with Rabbi Stuart's other books

Who doesn’t love a great meal?

Eat This Book by Stuart Dauermann is intended as a discipleship manual for Jewish believers in Yeshua(Jesus). Just as the title suggests, I found it to contain rich spiritual food. We are talking cheesecake, kugel, cholent. Imagine your favorites. The difference here is that spiritual weight gain is a good thing! And there is no need to read it front to back. You can dig in anywhere for a quick nosh or a more substantial meal. This will be something to return to over and over again to learn and grow in faith and practice. Even if you have been on your journey with Yeshua for many years, I think you will find much spiritual meat here. And lots to discuss with family and friends. Good appetite!
